THE CROCUS
There's much to be said for these stealthy plants
Like the crone, they try hard to be heard
They struggle through the frozen earth
While everyone thinks it's absurd
But they struggle and try with all their might
They're strong and steadfast and true
While youngsters are playing out in the snow
The crocus pops up to greet you
Suddenly someone notices them
As they brilliantly show their worth
They've made their way through another winter
And arrived as a welcome new birth
